Conceptualization
This project presents an iterative study of façade strategies for a flexible, low-density multifamily residential development. Designed to be site-agnostic, the system can be adapted to a range of urban or suburban contexts without compromising architectural character or constructability.
The core structure employs mass timber assemblies with a modular unit layout, enabling full off-site prefabrication and streamlining on-site erection. This approach not only reduces construction time and waste, but also enhances sustainability and offers a repeatable framework for future expansions or scaled deployments.
Façade variations are continually tested, refined, and re-indexed as part of an ongoing design evolution—each iteration exploring materiality, rhythm, shading, and performance. Through this process, the development becomes both systemized and expressive, balancing modular efficiency with architectural individuality.
